Food concessions, picnic pavilions and tables, playgrounds, canoe/kayak rentals, fishing and short hiking trails round out your park experience. I hiked several of their wooded trails and al were well manicured and very nice. RENTALS MAY BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE AND CAN BE RESERVED ON THE SAME DAY.

There are extensive visitor facilities at the Hammerman area, focused on the swimming beach. The 1500 foot sandy beach on the Gunpowder River has several lifeguard-protected beaches and a large boathouse to rent windsurfing equipment, SUPs and kayaks. Kayaks, Paddle Boards, Wind Surfers, and Sailboats are available for rental on-site through Eastern Watersports.

My friends have rented their boards several times now from Ultimate Water Sports at their Dundee Creek location. The beach area has a reasonable snack bar with a decent selection (though nothing healthy), the bathrooms have showers, and my kids enjoy the sand and water. Will be back.Came here to the Hammerman Beach area on 7.3.2020.
They are both unique and well worth a visit.
I'm not sure how I'm going to outdo this for my son's next birthday. I haven't been to this beach since I was a kid!
Answer 1 of 2: My friends want to go to havre de grace for Labor Day weekend. The water is really dirty, no boogie boards or other water toys are allowed and the furthest you're allowed to swim out to barely comes past your waist.

Dogs should ''Not'' be allowed on the beach especially when small children are they are attending with their families. There were a lot of picnic tables and grills in the grassy area behind the beach. Loved it. For only $3 per person (on a weekday), this is a bargain.Great place for a family day out, nice clean beach area, life guards on the watch, a picnic area on the beach, so you can grill and watch your children.Looking for a place to cool off during the summer - come on down, there's swimming, hiking and other fun stuff!! This beach was just awlful, there was dog poop and trash ''everywhere''. This gives you full access to all MD state parks for you and a carload.
