One mile (1.6 km) beyond the cabin are trails west to Dewey Point and east to Bridalveil Creek. Traffic typically get’s backed up during sunset. Glad we did it. This hike is actually closer to 5 miles one way, 9.7 miles roundtrip. Why wait? We headed up there to see the sunset and apparently that’s the spot people go to watch it because it was insanely crowded. Super easy stroll with great views of the valley and iconic spots. Take the shuttle back to Yosemite Village- walk across the valley floor with a flashlight and use it to find the car at the Four Mile Trail trailhead. Take the John Muir Trail down.
