We stayed at Mara Expedition camp in mid Feb 2018 after having to be switched from our original planned location at Mara Plains Camp due to a lioness and her cubs denning under our reserved tent!

The camp is run by a charming couple, Henry and Maxine, and the chef was fantastic! greatplainsconservation. Own or manage this property? It took us 3 hours on foot to follow the herd to the river. Due to its location in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta, the surroundings of Duba Explorers Camp is dominated by permanent floodplain, interspersed with seasonal floodplains and grasslands and pockets of mopane and acacia woodlands. The daytime temperatures were comfortable and very pleasant this time of year. Most of our staff employed at Duba Explorers Camp are from the surrounding villages and communities so it is truly a reflection of the area and this wild space within Botswana. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend either of these camps for a first class experience. We recommend calling ahead to confirm details. The location is amazing with so much abundance of game. This was the highlight of our trip! Lions, leopards and even African wild (painted) dogs are spotted regularly. also the management and the rest of the staff was very friendly and always willing to help us.Dear John, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
