The Caldwell County School District has released their detailed reopening plan for students to return in the fall, even as the coronavirus pandemic continues to ravage the state and nation.Superintendent Nate Huggins says students will have two options this year, traditional or virtual instruction.He adds virtual instruction will not be like the Non-Traditional Instruction that was offered for the remainder of the school year following closures in March.Huggins notes once the decision is made for traditional or virtual instruction that decision can not be changed until after the grading period ends.For those who choose traditional instruction, he states bus routes will run the same as in previous years, but a few things will be different for students getting on and off the bus.As for meals during the school year, Huggins explains food will be available for pickup throughout the week for those utilizing virtual instruction.While parents are being encouraged to provide masks for their children, disposable masks will be available on each bus and at each school. Bottles of water will also be available for students in the primary through the middle school and water refilling stations are available at the high school, but high school students must have their own bottles.
